Prof. Mushangwe

is currently the Director of the Confucius Institute, University of Zimbabwe and former Chairperson of the Department of Foreign languages and literature (2016-2017). He is one of the compilers of the first Shona – Chinese dictionary.

He also compiled the first resource book for learning Chinese characters. He has published more than 20 articles in the area of teaching Chinese as a second language, Chinese phonetics, Shona – Chinese comparative phonology and onomastics. He holds a Master’s degree in teaching Chinese as a Second Language from Tianjin Normal University and a PhD in Chinese Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from Hebei University, China
