Africa Research Notes Series publishes research-based short articles which are scientifically valid research outputs, but cannot be considered as full research or methodology articles. Its aim is to provide a forum for sharing data, useful information and perspectives on topical issues of concern to the policy and research communities. Articles published under this series cut across disciplines, and include some short articles or opinion pieces that have already been published by API experts. Some are brief publications, updates to previous work, abridged versions of research agendas or concept notes or brief reports of policy forums.

The China-Africa Report is Africa Policy Institute’s premier publication released monthly covering developments in China-Africa affairs. It provides an overview of all actions taken by the African Union, Regional Economic Communities (RECs) African governments and partners relating to China.

This is Africa Policy Institute’s quarterly publication in peace, governance, development and geopolitics in the Horn of Africa. Previously published as Kenyan Affairs Journal, the HAJ Formerly published as Kenyan Affairs is published by the Horn Center (HC), API-Africa’s center of excellence on Horn Affairs. Its accessible, easy-to-read and policy relevant articles are an invaluable resources to policy-makers, African organizations and initiatives of African partners such as China’s Proposal on the Outlook on Peace and Development in the Horn of Africa and America’s Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), and EU’s engagement in the Horn.

The China-Kenya Yearbook is the flagship publication of the China-Africa Center (CAC) at the Africa Policy Institute. The Year Book tracks the impact of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), Kenya’s role in the Forum for China-Africa Cooperation and other platforms on China-Kenya relations. It is steered by a multi-disciplinary team of experienced experts on China-Africa affairs. The first edition of the Year Book will be released in mid-December, 2024. The Year Book is conceived as a high-impact publication that collates and curates factual and accurate information on China- Africa relations in general and Kenya in particular. It is a credible source of evidence-based research information on the China-Kenya partnership in the implementation of Agenda 2063 of African Union, United Nations 2030 sustainable goals, BRI and FOCAC agenda. It is an invaluable support tool for masters and doctoral students undertaking research on China-African affairs.

Inspired by the belief that the discussion of cutting-edge books is an indispensable tool in empowering communities, the API Review of Books offers a platform to scholars, thinkers and the knowledge community to provided incisive reviews of new books on diverse aspects of Africa, including development, diplomacy, peace, security, governance and geo-strategic issues. The platform is published and shared through API website and partner forums.

The Tafiti Books Series (AWS) is a collection of books published by Tafiti House Publishers on Africa. The series provides an international audience for ideas from Africa published by African authors.
